Fleet Safety

Vehicles in Traffic 500

Motor vehicle crashes are a leading cause of death and injury for all ages. Crashes on and off the job have far-reaching financial and psychological effects on employees, their coworkers and families, and their employers.

Driver Safety Programs are proven to:

  • Save lives and to reduce the risk of life-altering injuries within your workforce
  • Protect your organization's human and financial resources
  • Guard against potential organizational and personal liabilities associated with crashes involving employees driving on county business.

A comprehensive Driver Safety Program should work to keep the driver, and those with whom he/she shares the road, safe. If necessary, the program must work to improve driver attitudes, enhance safety driving behavior, and increase skills to build a safer and more aware driving culture. By instructing employees in basic safe driving practices and then rewarding safety-conscious behavior, can help staff and their families avoid tragedy.

Due to the unique nature of each department or agency's mission, and the different types of vehicles used please contact the corresponding departmental Safety Coordinator for the applicability of their department's fleet safety program.
